So yesterday was our first session with Christina and I cannot say enough good things! I have a 14 month old Black Lab / Great Dane and she is full of energy and hijinx. We were having problems with impulse control as well as recall.
After just the first session Christina was able to identify the root of the behaviors as well as show me ways to positively reinforce the right behaviors and how to ignore the wrong ones thereby teaching her the difference without traditional “punishment.” My dog (Denver) is a fast learner and Christina was wonderful with her – treated her like her own.
Christina was extremely personable, professional and patient with both me and Denver. She took the time to explain what we were doing and why we were doing it and why it works. Taking the time to explain the process really helped me to understand the purpose and apply the practice at home.
I can’t say enough good things about Laura and her operation and would recommend them to anyone for any level of training.

I called Carmel Dog Zone and spoke with Laura about my needs and issues I was having with my three year old goldendoodle. After her consultation on the telephone, I requested four sessions of in-home training. The trainer, Eva, was outstanding! She is a total professional dog trainer and people trainer!
My dog was having problems with impulse control. He would lunge at squirrels, get way too excited to meet other dogs and he would put his front feet on the check-out counter at the hardware store where the clerk would give him treats.
After following the homework assignments given to us by the trainer, my dog is now showing fantastic progress after just four weeks. Actually, he showed progress instantly after the first session. He can now walk past a squirrel just twenty feet away and look at me and sit.
He is having a great time learning and I am having fun bonding with my dog. I really liked getting the one on one training and highly recommend Eva at the Carmel Dog Zone.

I came across Carmel Dog Zone searching for a trainer that would work with me and my new Greyhound Rescue. Laura then connected me with a trainer close to Downtown where I lived and it was a great experience. I realize that more than 1/2 the battle is really training US humans! Lora Robinson was fantastic to work with.. She understood my needs which in my case was to make sure my new 5 year old Greyhound Flash was understood based on my perceptions and how to work with the shyness and the fear that he was still experiencing. Her training methods of reward vs some other methods I had seen in the past were far more comfortable to me and Flash is doing fantastic. Lora was always there for any calls of any issues emails etc… I would highly recommend Carmel Dog Zone for anyone considering training.

Christina is a gifted dog trainer. We have had four private lessons (plus preliminary consultation) for our five month old puppy (now seven months), and Christina’s demonstrations, tips, and insights have been invaluable. She has a real knack for this; it’s obvious that she can relate to dogs and vice versa.
Did I mention it is fun? When Christina came to our house and worked with our little Zoe, it was like being treated to a show!

Christina and the folks at Carmel Dog Zone gave our puppy Henry such a wonderful time at both our private lessons and his board and train. It was our first time leaving him, so we were obviously very nervous, but he ended up having so much fun, I think he was a little sad to come back home! I would certainly recommend using Carmel Dog Zone for all your training and boarding needs.

We found Carmel Dog Zone through Google when we were trying to find options for having our new puppy watched while we were out of town. We didn’t want to go the kennel route, so board and training seemed like an excellent alternative.
Jack was just about two months old at the time, though we’d only had him for about a week and a half. (Poor planning on our part to be going out of town so shortly after adoption.) He was making progress on his training but we wanted to keep it going and strengthen it while we were out of town, instead of having him forget.
We couldn’t have been happier with the overall experience! Laura was great to work with for coordinating and arranging options, and Christina did a wonderful job with him! We were incredibly pleased with the results; not only was his response stronger to the things we had started training on him, but he had also learned new things as well.
